White House counselor Kellyanne Conway fired back at Democratic lawmakers who criticized Republicans for not "standing up" to President Trump. On ABC's "This Week" on Sunday, Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) told voters opposed to Trump that the best way to battle his agenda is "to throw the bums out" of Congress who support a "deeply unethical president." Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.) agreed with the sentiment on CNN's "The Lead" on Monday, claiming that Republicans who don't hold Trump accountable are "worse than bums." "This is the flailing that happens when you're in an entire political party that seems to have no message for America, no positive message," Conway said on “Fox & Friends” on Tuesday. "They voted to shut down the government. They voted against the taxes. ... These are the folks that have nothing positive to say. They hold up a stop sign." She said that Schiff in particular seems to be more concerned with appearing on television than legislating. The Republican National Committee released research in February showing Schiff had conducted 227 television interviews since Trump took office, with most occurring on MSNBC and CNN. "This guy leaves the house every morning with his earpiece and his congressional button, and he does a lot more with the earpiece," Conway said. She said that while Democrats continue to "attack, divert and deflect," President Trump remains focused on his agenda. "He will not be diverted and discouraged from doing things on behalf of the American people. We're more secure, we're more prosperous because of him." POSTED BY ABRAHAM
