Nigeria Houses Poorest People Worldwide-British PM

Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Mrs Theresa May, has said that Nigeria houses the poorest people in the World May made the comment in Cape Town, South Africa on Tuesday while delivering a speech. She said “Much of Nigeria is thriving, with many individuals enjoying the fruits of a resurgent economy, yet 87 million Nigerians live on less than $1 and 90 cents a day, making it home to more very poor people than any other nation in the world," The UK Prime Minister, who is currently in the country as at the time of this report, said that 87 million Nigerians were living below $1.90 a day, making Nigeria “home to more very poor people than any other nation in the world.” May however said that the UK would invest in Africa to create more jobs to fight poverty, at the same time tackle global challenges as the focus is achieving inclusive growth.
