The boko haram insurgents has been described as the second deadliest in the world while the Fulani herdsmen is the forth deadliest in the world. All these live with us in Nigeria and have appeared as intractable problems that seems to defy all known solutions.

What Nigerians are faced with today are not problems we imported but homegrown which under normal circumstances will first and foremost require the will to turn them around for where there is a will, there is a way.

A major concern for every perceptive Nigerian is the question, “How did we get here?”  Until this question is answered, forging ahead creatively towards solving the problems we have in our hands will be difficult if not impossible.

In the course of seeking redress, It does not make sense for any right thinking leader to want to concentrate efforts in tackling the symptoms while shying away from the origin of the problem which is the disease. Clamping down on agitation is like postponing the day of judgement which under normal circumstances should have been the first thing to tackle because when we err in vision, we will stumble In judgement.

Agitation for self-determination is a right and not a privilege and until this government of Major Gen Mohammadu Buhari comes to terms with it, there can be no progress let alone solutions.

The problem of Nigeria – the way the present regime is tackling the problem of insurgency, banditry, kidnapping and arm robbery, when compared with the way  the government is reacting  to the yearnings of the major ethnic groups that make up the country, is, to say the least, irresponsible. This is a country where bandits are protected, pampered and paid for carrying out their nefarious activities which are inimical to the wellbeing and peaceful co-existence of the citizenry. However, the treatment that this wicked element deserve is now being meted to those who should have been appreciated and encouraged for doing what is right for carrying out a peaceful protest. One thing that is certain as death is the fact that no matter how much the Buhari administration tries to silence the agitators ,Nigeria can no longer remain as one indivisible entity.Yoruba nation and the Biafra republic are a reality because anything that happens in the physical must have taken place originally in the spiritual.

The barbaric way in which the Buhari government is handling the issue of agitations rather than solving the problem is complicating it . To Nigerians, this is the time for people to understand the place of international hypocricy,a friend in need is a friend indeed

Looking to the international community for help is like making mockery of one’s self for heaven helps those who help themselves. It may be too early to indict the international community for complicity, not being sincere in ensuring world peace which was what led to the formation and establishment of the United Nations and other affiliate international agencies after the Second World War.

Nnamdi Kanu

Whether the leadership in Nigeria likes it or not, there is no going back on the Self-determination quest of the major ethnic groups in Nigeria.

On a final note, leaders who refuse to change their minds in the port have no option but to sink in the sea and that becomes the portion of the APC-led government in Nigeria. It is now time for all Nigerians to salute the courage of the likes of Nnamdi Kanu and Chief Sunday Adeyemo Igboho even as we stand by them and pray with them.

God save us all!
