A huge miracle was witnessed in a community in Jigawa state on Monday as a day-old baby buried alive some 28 hours before, was exhumed and miraculously found still breathing.
The police disclosed that excavation went underway hours after the baby was declared missing.
Investigation by the police after declaring the baby missing led operatives to an unmarked grave where the baby was buried, Premiumtimes reports.
Police spokesperson, Audu Jinjiri, further added that the police have arrested a 27 year-old suspect, Ashiru Abubakar, an indigene of Janbiri village in Birnin Kudu Local Government Area of the state.
Jinjiri while disclosing that the baby had been inside the ground 28 hours before being exhumed further revealed that the suspect had impregnated one 20 year-old Hussaina Yusuf of Tosawa village in Birnin Kudu who gave birth to the baby on February 1.
Jinjiri narrating the incident, said, “It was alleged that the suspect sneaked into the house of Hussaina while she was asleep and took the newly born baby, went to a nearby bush, dug a grave, then buried her alive.
“Subsequently on 02/02/2019 (next day), the baby was exhumed from the grave by the police who discovered she was still alive.
“The baby and mother have been taken to Federal Medical Center, Birnin Kudu, for medical examination and suspect detained while the case is under preliminary investigation.” The Police spokesman stated.
